The Lost History of Helmand. Fantastic article by Adam Curtis on the failed modernisation of Afghanistan. Insight into what was, could have been and is today. Via BBC.

Tales from the Bin Laden Clan. ‘Wife and son bare secrets of terror kingping.’ I thought we’d done this already… I suppose Osama the enigma will be of interest for always. This article is of interest if for nothing else than the curious commentary on fundamental Islam: on the place of women, attitude to electronics, cruelty to animals etc.

Project Gutenberg Australia. A great resource for Australia-specific literature and history ebooks.

Interesting to see Project Guttenberg Australia. It seems to have a range as big as Amazon Kindle Oz.
The ads on this site are a little worrying though.

I haven’t had the chance to really dive into it yet but they appear to have some worthwhile stuff. And yes, the in-text ads… web 1.0 relics, perhaps? It’s one way to get around ad-blockers, I suppose.
